6th Grade Life Science

Class Overview
The 6th grade science experience is an introduction to high school biology with a comprehensive emphasis on the science process skills. (Basically, we will be figuring out what makes living things tick.)
And, as is our school's philosophy, students will also be offered several opportunities to practice their critical thinking skills and Habits of Mind.
This program is a fusion of information provided by the current classroom text, hands-on experiences, and real world application. Students will complete a variety of experiments involving skillful observations, data collection and analysis, as well as opportunities to communicate conclusions. They will culminate the year with a week-long trip to Key West to experience and apply, first hand, what they have learned over the course of the year.
