Thinking Interdependently

"I not only use all the brains I have, but all I can borrow."

Woodrow Wilson

Working and thinking together produces a power unmatched by individual efforts.

By sharing thoughts, perspectives, and resources children gain experience that will be invaluable in their future endeavors.   Beyond the obvious benefits of expanding their knowledge base, students learn to work cooperatively, to accept criticism, to question each other, and to arrive at a solution that they can support.

Group activities at Hendricks Day School begin with the teachers who work together at grade level and subject area to provide support and direction for each other.  This behavior, as modeled by the faculty, is passed to the students through a variety of group projects in every grade.  We especially monitor our groups for proper socialization and participation.
