An initial lack of understanding should not diminish the value of what is being observed.  The very act of wondering can provide impetus to seek answers.

Appreciation for things we do not understand provides encouragement to discover and to learn.  It is curiosity that moves people to become creative and innovative, and satisfying a one's curiosity leads to a love of learning.

The students of Hendricks Day School are encouraged to express their wonderment, just as they are encouraged to find out "why."  Awe-inspiring events are regarded as inspirational tools of learning that must be fully examined and investigated if our students are to become life long learners.
