Questioning and Posing Problems

Perplexity is the beginning of knowledge."
                                                    Kahlil Gibran

Questioning and posing problems may be thought of as advanced curiosity.  All people wonder why, but the one who asks questions will profit from his curiosity.

By encouraging students to ask questions, to pose problems, to probe for more information, we teach them to find and consider alternatives that they might have otherwise ignored.  The more questions they ask, the more useful information they will acquire.

Questioning is a highly valued behavior at Hendricks Day School.  Thoughtful questions posed by either student or teacher will enhance the learning experience of all.  Good questioners will spark the intellectual curiosity of others.  Being able to ask the right question is the first step to solving a problem.
