think!
"The ultimate goal is for youth to employ critical-thinking strategies in everyday life without prompting from parents and teachers. Reasoning at high levels is one of the most valuable skills parents can foster in their children, one that will prepare them for success." —Elizabeth Shaunessy, PhD
The Hendricks Day School curriculum includes the teaching of a set of skills that are necessary to achieve competency in thinking critically. Educational research has pointed us in this direction, and we have embraced the philosophy that all children can become good thinkers. Hendricks Day School provides students with the proper skills and opportunities to question, analyze, and evaluate information when making decisions and solving problems. Using our core academic subjects as a base, we are able to enhance the life skills we offer our students through the thinking skills.
